We had a very successful week last week with many important activities including Orange Shirt Day and our Terry Fox Run. Thank you to all of our leadership students for organizing stickers and toonie collection and to all of our families for donating and supporting these important causes.

Updating Demographic Information – Past Due

You will have received an email from CBE regarding updating your child’s demographic information in Powerschool. These forms used to be completed via paper copies and now are required to be completed annually online. All parents must review, complete or update their child’s forms through Powerschool by clicking on the School Engage tab. This task is now past due. Please ensure these are completed as soon as possible.

Upcoming Field Trips

We are very excited to be offering a number of upcoming field trips for all grade teams as early as October. We are required to have a minimum number of parent volunteers join us in order for each trip to proceed. Please consider, if you haven’t already, filling out the paperwork to volunteer at our school. You can stop by the office any time and we will help you with next steps.

Fire Drill this Week

We will be having our second Fire Drill this week. Students did such a wonderful job last time exiting the building in a timely manner and lining up silently outside. There are three drills that need to be completed in Term 1. The third fire drill will be unannounced.

School Council

Thank you to all of our parents and guardians who came out last week to support our first school council meeting of the school year. We have an executive council that was voted in and we are off to a solid start to raise funds and help support our students in the upcoming school year.
