Dear Thomas B. Riley Families,
No School Friday
There is a professional learning day for all school staff on Friday November 29, 2024. There is no school for students.
School Council Meeting Date Change
Due to Basketball Semi-Finals hosted at TBR this we moved our School Council Meeting date in November. The new date is Wednesday November 27, 2024 @6pm in our school learning commons. We hope you can join us!
Model UN Club is starting!
We are starting up a Model United Nations Jr. Club at Thomas B. Riley. This club offers students an opportunity to develop their skills in public speaking, research, negotiation, and collaboration while simulating United Nations activities. We are excited to have them participate in this enriching experience.
What is Model UN?
Model UN simulations engage hundreds of thousands of students each year, helping them to learn more about the principles of the UN and how it functions.
Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business and the arts – including at the UN itself – participated in Model UN as students.
The United Nations supports Model UN simulations by building and maintaining strong links between the UN and Model UN participants. It does this by sharing first-hand knowledge about the work of the UN at Model UN conferences; providing guidance with organizers to create accurate and authentic simulations; and encouraging Model UN clubs to take concrete action to support UN values and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Club Details:
Club Name: Model United Nations Jr.
