Last Call for Next Year Course Selection!
All students are required to choose their top three choices for complementary courses for the Fall 2026 by Tuesday, May 5, 2026 in Powerschool. Instructions are outlined below.
Selections made after this date and any additional changes following May 5 are not able to be accommodated. Please take your time to choose carefully and complete with your child.
Students Attending TB Riley Next School Year:
- Log into Powerschool
- Click on Course Registration
- Where it says your Grade level options, click the pencil to Edit.
- Click to check THREE complementary courses you are interested in for next school year. If you choose more or less your choices will not be submitted.
- Click Okay at the bottom of the screen
- If you see a green checkmark next to each box beside the pencil you have done this correctly. If you still see a red exclamation mark, your selection was too many or too few.
- Ignore the Additional Requests box as this should not be completed.
**Note: Band is a FULL year course. If you choose band you will still need to select two other complementary courses, however Band is what you will be scheduled for in the Fall.
Please keep in mind that all course selections and scheduling is based on course availability and space. Selections will be automatically scheduled through Powerschool and not completed manually this year by administration. If you miss the deadline for course selection your child will be scheduled into courses where there is space and availability.
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon- May 7th, 2026 @5:30pm
Thomas B Riley school's Drama department is proud to present…The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon on May 7th 2026 at 5:30PM in our main gym! Doors will open at 5pm.
There will be items available for purchase at a cash concession.
Come experience the delights of fairytales "gone wrong" and see the magic of storytelling to get things back to normal. Hope to see you there!
Tickets are available by donation at the door. All donations and proceeds will go towards next year’s drama production.
Spirit Day – Hats On! For Mental Health
On the first Wednesday in May, Albertans are invited to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. All students are welcome to wear a hat to school on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Open House for Parents – June 10 @6pm
Parents and future students of TBR are invited to attend our Open House at 6pm on June 10 at the school. The current Grade 7 teachers will walk you through what to expect in the first year of Junior High School and answer questions that arise. We will have an opportunity to tour the school and CTF spaces as well.
Future Grade 7 Open House for Students– June 11
Grade 7s from our four feeder schools will be attending our Open House for students only during the morning of Thursday, June 11, 2026. During this time, students will be provided with an overview of the school, a chance to tour our spaces, and an opportunity to ask questions. This Open House is led by our current Grade 7 students who are eager to share their experiences at our school this year.
