Dear Thomas B Riley Families,

No School Monday

Monday is a national holiday. There is no school.

Spirit Day Thursday – May-Cation

All students are invited to wear their best vacation attire to school on Friday and get ready for a Whodunnit Day of Mystery.

Grade 9 PAT on Thursday

Grade 9 students have a PAT on Thursday morning beginning at 8am. It is important they are on time so they are present for all instructions. Make sure they bring water, have a snack, and do not bring their cell phone into class on this day. A security check will be performed before they begin.

Students will be completing review and prep all week at school in core classes. Completion of assignments are important for feedback and success.

Students who are excused from writing these exams will work in the office under Mrs. Austin’s supervision on an alternative assignment during all PATs.

All students are expected to remain at school for the full day.

Bus Registration

Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. You will have received an email from transportation with details on service levels. Registration is available through MyCBE. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)

Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.

Spring Band Concert – Thursday, May 21, 2026

There is a Spring Band concert at the school on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Doors will open at 5:00pm. There will be reserved seating for school council board members who have served our school in these roles throughout the school year.

Start time: 5:30pm   Location: School gymnasium

All students must arrive by 5pm and go to their holding areas with their instruments.

We ask that all parents stay for the duration of the entire concert, following their own child’s grade performance. The whole show will be only an hour in length and we want to ensure a full audience for those who play last in the evening and minimize disruption throughout. Thank you for your consideration.

School Council Meeting – Wednesday May 20, 2026

There will be a school council meeting in person at the school on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at 6pm at the school. Please join us! We have several vacancies for next year that need to be filled to keep our school up and running!

Library is Now Closed

The last day for students to check out books was yesterday, May 7, 2026. All books must be returned. Notices of lost and overdue books will be sent out and the cost of unreturned books will be added to your Powerschool account. Please ensure that all books are returned to avoid additional costs.

Save the Dates:

Open House for Parents – June 10 @6pm

Parents and future students of TBR are invited to attend our Open House at 6pm on June 10 at the school. We will have an opportunity to tour the school and CTF spaces as well.

Future Grade 7 Open House for Students– June 11

Grade 7s from our four feeder schools will be attending our Open House for students only during the morning of Thursday, June 11, 2026.
