PATs this Morning
We have kicked off our PATs this morning with ELA Part A – Writing. All students are working hard in their homeroom to support this process. If students are absent, they will write the PAT upon their return.
Long Weekend – No School Friday or Monday
There is a PD Day this Friday so there is no school for students. In addition, due to the long weekend, there is no school on Monday. Regular classes resume on Tuesday May 21, 2024.
TLC Uniform
As a reminder for all of our students who attend our Traditional Learning Center Program, TLC uniforms are a requirement of the program. Mondays are formal day and require formal attire. The rest of the week, students are expected to be in their full uniform. Students are required to be in their navy or dark pants, white collared shirts, cardigans, black shoes, etc. If they are wearing a TBR hoodie from Tuesday-Friday, their uniform is required underneath. Gym strip is never permissible. Sweatpants, yoga pants, colored shoes, etc. are not allowed. Students will be receiving calls home for uniform infractions.
Junior Badminton Tournament
The junior bandminton tournament takes place this Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Bowness High at 4:00pm-7:30pm. Please ensure all students have transportation to and from this event.
Senior Badminton Tournament
The senior bandminton tournament takes place this Tuesday May 21, 2024 at Bowness High at 4:00pm-7:30pm. Please ensure all students have transportation to and from this event.
Band Concert – This Thursday
Our final Spring Band Concert is this Thursday at 5:30pm. Doors will open at 5:00pm. Students will go directly to their designated areas. Grade 7s will begin in the gymnasium as they are the first to perform.
We ask that small children are either on your lap or remain at home out of respect for the performance. Also, we ask that all families remain in their seats for the entirety of the performance for all grades to ensure our performers have a full audience for the concert. We appreciate your attention to this.
Band Rehearsals this Week
There is a mandatory Grade 7 band rehearsal today after school at 2:30pm. Tomorrow is Grade 8 band rehearsal at 2:30pm. Wednesday is Grade 9 band rehearsal at the same time. Please ensure all students attend as this is their final after-school rehearsal before the concert on Thursday. All students require a pick up at 4:00pm. Students must be in their formal uniform for the concert.
Options for Next Year
There is a change to our process for CTF courses next school year. We will be moving to a CTF Wheel where all students will cycle through between 4 and 8 CTF courses in a school year depending on whether they attend our TLC or Regular Program. Because they will have a chance to cycle through all options classes, there will be no need to complete a choice survey as we did last year.
The only piece of information we need to know from you is if your child is attending the Regular Program at TBR next year, please let us know by emailing Mrs. Austin directly at taaustin@cbe.ab.ca if you would like for them to take band.
