Track and Field Meet
Congratulations to all of the students who were selected to the Track and Field Team this year! The Track and Field Meet is happening on Thursday June 4th at Foothills Athletic Park. If your child has been selected to the team, they have received the Acknowledgement of Risk and must have a parent/guardian sign and return the form to the Phys Ed Team as soon as possible! Please ensure that fees are paid through your MyCBE account prior to June 4.
Parents are permitted to watch the events, however a schedule of events for students will change throughout the day. No students are allowed to leave the track and field meet until all of their events have concluded, including over lunch. If they leave, they will not be permitted re-entry.
If you would like to volunteer for this trip, please contact djthalheimer@cbe.ab.ca directly with the name of your child.
Outstanding Fees
We have many outstanding fees regarding field trips from this year as well as CTF courses. It is important fees are collected each year in order to be able to continue to offer the quality of programming we have been accustomed to providing. Please check your MyCBE account.
Bus Registration
Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. You will have received an email from transportation with details on service levels. Registration is available through MyCBE. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)
Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
FIELD TRIP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Grade 9 Field Trip
Hello Parents/Guardians of Grade 9 students! As part of our end-of-the-year celebration, the grade 9's will be visiting TELUS Spark Science Centre on June 17, 2026. We are currently looking for 7 parent volunteers for the trip! If you are available and interested in volunteering, please send a message as soon as possible to kdsproxton@cbe.ab.ca. Your support helps make these experiences safe, enjoyable, and memorable for our students! Thank you!
Grade 9 Farewell June 25, 2026
Our Grade 9 Farewell celebration ceremony will be held on June 25, 2026 at 8:45am. More details will follow in the coming weeks regarding tickets and other details. More details regarding RSVPs and event activities will be coming out next week.
Open House for Parents – June 10 @6pm
Parents and future students of TBR are invited to attend our Open House at 6pm on June 10 at the school. The current Grade 7 teachers will walk you through what to expect in the first year of Junior High School and answer questions that arise. We will have an opportunity to tour the school and CTF spaces as well.
Future Grade 7 Open House for Students– June 11
Grade 7s from our four feeder schools will be attending our Open House for students only during the morning of Thursday, June 11, 2026. During this time, students will be provided with an overview of the school, a chance to tour our spaces, and an opportunity to ask questions. This Open House is led by our current Grade 7 students who are eager to share their experiences at our school this year.
TLC Uniform Purchases
As of June 1st, 2026, all CBE schools will be moving to over-the-counter retail purchasing going forward.
The McCarthy Calgary location will maintain stock on hand throughout the year and in the summer months for back to school for families to purchase. Should a size run out, a backorder will be placed for you to be shipped to your home when it becomes available.
How to purchase your uniforms:
In Store: The Calgary location is open all year round for uniform fittings and purchases. The store is located at 5911 3rd Street SE, Calgary and opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Online: The website will be open 24/7 and items can be shipped to your home or you can pick up in store.
