T.B. Riley Cultural Community Celebrations - Mon. Feb. 9 – Wed. Feb. 11, 2026

We will be holding our cultural community celebrations next week. This is an exciting opportunity for students to participate in and enjoy events that honour the rich diversity of cultures that make TBR such a special place to learn and grow.

Cultural Clothing

As part of the celebration, students are invited to wear clothing that represents their own culture from February 9–11, 2026. Students who choose to participate will not be required to wear their school uniform on those days. Out of respect, we ask that students wear attire that represents their own culture and do so with pride. This initiative was an overwhelming success last year and was highly requested by both students and staff, as shared by our Student Leadership Team and Student Well-Being Action Team.

Community Gathering
The Student Well-Being Action Team will be hosting a school-wide community gathering on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the gym at 8:20am. This gathering will celebrate the many cultures represented in our school community and will include poetry, dance, music, and a student-led fashion showcase. We are grateful for the thoughtful planning and preparation that has gone into creating this meaningful event.

Cultural Potluck
Each Connect class will partner with another class to have a cultural potluck on Tuesday, Feb. 10th beginning at 9:45 a.m. Students are invited to bring a small bite or finger food that reflects their family, culture, or traditions to share with their Connect class. Please note that there is no way to heat food, and parents and students are welcome to drop off food items first thing in the morning.

We look forward to coming together as a community to share food that nourishes both our bodies and our sense of belonging. Teachers will be sending out specific instructions and sign-up information through School Messenger shortly. Thank you for your continued support of our meaningful community-building events.
