Pink Shirt Day Wednesday
“Every year on Pink Shirt Day, people in schools, workplaces and communities across the world reach for something pink as a quiet act of courage. That small choice sends a clear message about the kind of communities we want to build: places where people feel safe and respected.
The first Pink Shirt Day started in Nova Scotia in 2007 when two students organized their classmates to wear pink after a boy was targeted for his clothing. The idea travelled far. Today, Pink Shirt Day is marked in many countries and across Canada. The heart of it remains the same: ordinary people deciding that bullying will not go unchallenged”

All students are welcome to wear Pink on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. TLC students may wear Pink rather than their uniform if they wish to participate.
Staffing Update
Mrs. Shah will be away on medical leave until at least the end of May 2026. Ms. Coghlan will be moving into the resource role in the office and will take on the portfolio of leading our student well-being action team and mental health and wellness initiative.
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Derksen to our school, who will be teaching Grade 7 Humanities for Ms. Coghlan while Ms. Shah is on medical leave. Ms. Derksen has experience teaching both in the CBE and internationally and will be a strong asset to our school.
Athletic Teams Fees
As we hit the midway point of the school year we begin looking at outstanding team fees from our school athletic teams. These fees cover costs such as Referees, Jerseys, Team specific equipment as well as a season ending pizza party for the entire team. We are asking you to please double check your students Powerschool account and make sure that any outstanding team fees have been paid. It is imperative that these fees are paid by all athletes to ensure we have the funds to continue to provide team experiences to our students here at TB Riley.
